Health and Illness Policy
Approved by the Board of Trustees May 20, 2015
For the protection of all, please keep this policy in mind when deciding to bring your family to church.
For Children
If your child is sick, unable to play outdoors, and/or unable to participate in regular daily activities, please keep the child at home.
If a child becomes sick at church, the family will be notified and prompt pick-up arrangements will be made.
For Adults and Children
It is difficult to stop the spread of germs. For example, hand-to-face contact, mouthing of toys, uncontrolled nasal discharge, uncovered sneezing and coughing, etc. can spread germs to vulnerable adults and from child to child.
When to Stay Home
Please stay home when you or your child is experiencing any of the following:
- Fever of 99.9 degrees and higher
- Rash – unexplained rash
- Vomiting and/or diarrhea – All symptoms should be gone for 24 hours before attending church.
- Strep throat
- Flu/bronchitis/pneumonia/uncontrolled coughing
- Ear infection
- Conjunctivitis (red eyes with yellow discharge) or Pink eye
- Head lice – Usually takes 24 hours to treat head and house
- Serious cold symptoms
Please return to church when you or your child is free from symptoms and no longer infectious. You should be well enough to actively participate in the events at the church.
Please let the Director of Religious Education or the office administrator know if you or your child has symptoms of chicken pox, measles, or other highly infectious disease.
Names of the children will be kept in confidence. If you have any questions concerning this policy and whether you or your family should attend church, please ask.
